Meet Your Farmers
Michael (or “Fraser” as we call him) and Glynis met over a shared love of farming and homesteading.
Toronto born-and-raised Glynis thought being a shepherdess was a childhood fantasy until she realized all she needed was some sheep. She started wwoofing (willing workers on organic farms) and eventually ended up in southern Ontario where she discovered a lively community of like-minded organic farmers, who are now her neighbours! She started Aldergrove Farm in 2012 growing only 1/4 acre of vegetables and cut flowers and raising a handful of farm animals.
Fraser’s adventure in farming started during the early years of the Concordia rooftop greenhouse when he realized that he didn’t know how to grow food. This seemed to him a vital deficit, which ultimately led to him studying at Linnea Farm on Cortes Island, and running his own market garden for two years outside Montreal.
Glynis and Fraser (and their daughter Ursula) are going into their second year running the farm together full time (as of 2017).
